BITCH ALERT
Bitch Alert is an alternative trio. We play aggressive rock
music with our ambitious riot bitch -attitude.
Bitch started as a girl band in 1997. November -97 we did our
first gig where the only audience was our supportive friends
(hey there!). A few months later we took part in Ääni&Vimma
-competition (our third gig) and Bitch ended to be one of the
eight finalists in Tavastia -club. We were very surprised! After
that we did some gigs and two demo tapes.
January -99 our (ex-)bass player Maria left Bitch for personal
reasons and right after that our friend Sid joined the band
as our temporary second guitarist (to help our gigs through,
ehh.) New bassist Kimmo (our poster-boy!) was also found really
soon and our new line-up was ready. We played about 12 gigs
in three months and on April-99 we finally had a little break.
We decided to turn be a trio again (never borrow your friends
toothbrush!!)
That's what Bitch is all about -primitive sounds and k00l spirit!
Spring-99 we took part in Ääni&Vimma-99 -competition
and we made it to the semifinals. For the summer -99 we moved
to Marittas garage and recorded our third demotape. It was sold
out very quickly. During the fall-99 we played few gigs and
had enough of youth houses for a while. We also did our first
acoustic gig (Oh-yeah!). On a x-mas time-99 we spent one day
in Finnvox studio recording a song God doesn't like me and wondering
what it is to play in studio
Spring-00 we were recording
some new (and old) stuff in Studio Stadi, but the expectations
didn't match very well so those tapes will never end up anywhere.
In November 2000 we changed the band's name to Bitch Alert
(too many bitches in the world already..!) and 25.-27.11.2000
we recorded our first single to GagaGoodies (Poko Rekords Oy)
in Headline Studios (Tampere) with Jani Viitanen. We got kind-of-married
with a record label. Grazious first single (Monday/Pornstar)
was released on January the 15th. February-01 Bitch Alert made
their first music video with Tuukka Temonen. The song was Monday.
We also recorded our second single Loveson and the first full-lenght
album Pay For Orgasm (released April 2001, Friday the 13th..)
Right after that we flew over to Moscow to play three gigs in
some local clubs there. That trip was awesome! Summer-01 we
also played a lot of festival gigs in Finland and released a
new single called Sandy. It got great feedback and we started
to work on our new songs. Fall-01 Bitch Alert went to a short
Norway - Denmark tour. We had two fabulous bands with us: Voladoras
(Swe) and Bronco Busters (Nor). This time things were more professional
(never too much when it comes to us, though!!).
Spring 2002 we released a digipak -ep 'Songs For Your Wedding'
in Finland. It was the single of the week in Kerrang! (UK) and
Rumba (FIN) -magazines. June-02 Bitch Alert released the second
full-lenght cd 'rriot..' which was reviewed f.ex. in Kerrang!
(20/2002), Metal Hammer (?/2002), Rumba (11/2002 --review and
a cover story), Soundi (6-7/2002) Sue (?/2002), SoneraPlaza.fi
and Let's Make Some Noise.com. Bitch played in some brilliant
summer festival shows and a lot of club gigs in Finland during
the Summer and Fall-02.
January 2003 we released our second digipak-ep Sunsets For
You in Finland (incl. Sunsets You Know + four new bizarre songs,
a little candy for ya!). Bitch Alert also made their third music
video (Loveson) with Tuukka Temonen (+crew, THANKS!!). June
the 9th this German record label Sputnik Records released a
rare Bitch Alert 7" vinyl ep called Hes So
Cute in Germany. Fucking k00l! We recorded demos of our
new material during Summer and Fall 2003 and played some gigs
in Finland, Estonia and UK.
Our first UK release will be a download single of Loveson (May
3rd 2004). ..rriot album will be released in UK
on May 17th 2004. Right after that were heading to UK
to do a tour there. Its gonna be a blast!
See you on our gigs, you little rriot grrls, cutie bois and
lipstick eaters!
kisses,
